T_o I forget how many side projects I have.
finishing my mothers knitting labels is on the top of my design list however, my biggest personal design challenge is to finish my personal top trump set based on my first story (XD which needs to be rewritten and finished).
If I had a table the deigns for the 30 characters would be done by now.
DB: “Is there more boys then girls?”
Icy: “It’s an even 50/50 split.”
^_^ Can kind of understand how he got that impression when I look at the list.
O_O I’m not sure if I should turn it into a top trump game for myself or make up a game from scratch (I have all the data that would be needed in the Excel-file).
A lot of math went into this….and a lot of odd confiscations about who would beat who in a running contest (took us hours to compile all the data).
XD The oddest thing about this project is that I can name all 30 of them off the top of my head (along with there powers and personalities).
Got the dragon font for that experiment from http://www.dafont.com/.
So….what did I think? For a comedy anime I didn’t laugh that much and for a moe it wasn’t that cute or endearing.
I think a lot of the jokes failed due to the show playing it way too safe by choosing scenarios that were too predictable……and played oddly too straight? Most comedy anime go for over the top emotions and reactions while this anime fights with the endless misbalance of wanting to be over the top and a slow slice of life at the same time.
*It’s certainly a unique combination.*
One of the basic elements of moe is to make the girl’s sweet, endearing and fabric softener cuddly; which is something this show failed to deliver. If you were to sit down and watch these girls you will find that their outer skin is the only thing that shows moe charm, for underneath they are nothing more than one note jokes that would have easily been placed into any skin.
*Moe 101: They have a child like charm (there hope has not been corroded away by the harsh reality of life). *
T_o I have a big question: Why do girls in this anime orgasm when their hair is brushed?
I despise comedy anime that try and force drama in the last episode; WHY! If you didn’t have a plot or a story there is no need to pretend your tying up loose plot threads. You should be focusing on making your last anime episode the most funny and memorable if your show never really had a story line threading the episode together (there is no need to force drama).
My new job makes it so I don’t have lots of free time to watch anime at home at the moment.
*If I had my own home I wouldn’t have to go to town in order to see DB so often.*
I have been spending most of my free time sleeping in order to regain my energy (I work just above 7 hours a day). *Get Sundays off.*
If I want to keep this blog going I’m going to have to come up with an anime plan and soon!
I have been thinking about this topic again today and I have come to a conclusion.
The definition of trance is: a half-conscious state characterized by an absence of response to external stimuli, typically as induced by hypnosis or entered by a medium.
Trance: Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
meditation definition: Meditation is the act of remaining in a silent and calm state for a period of time, as part of a religious training, or so that you are more able to deal with the problems of everyday life.
semiconscious: That part of the mind which is on the fringe of consciousness and contains material of which it is possible to become aware by redirecting attention.
sleep: a periodic state of physiological rest during which consciousness is suspended and metabolic rate is decreased .
The important part of this paragraph to point out is “meditate deeply” which basically says you’re not reading a book, sewing a dress or baking a pie.
Sorry sir but I call bull on that.
Does the Trance trait allow an elf to finish a long rest in 4 hours? The intent is no. The Trance trait does let an elf meditate for 4 hours and then feel the way a human does after sleeping for 8 hours, but that isn’t intended to shorten an elf’s long rest. A long rest is a period of relaxation that is at least 8 hours long. It can contain sleep, reading, talking, eating, and other restful activity. Standing watch is even possible during it, but for no more than 2 hours; maintaining heightened vigilance any longer than that isn’t restful. In short, a long rest and sleep aren’t the same thing; you can sleep when you’re not taking a long rest, and you can take a long rest and not sleep.
lets highlight this part: The Trance trait does let an elf meditate for 4 hours and then feel the way a human does after sleeping for 8 hours.
T-o Feels like it???? WHAT THE HECK IS THAT MEANT TO MEAN!
You ether are or your not.
O_O How are you meant to interrupt that in game: “I slept for 4 hours just so I could say I feel like a 8 human hours.”
A long rest is a period of relaxation that is at least 8 hours long. It can contain sleep, reading, talking, eating, and other restful activity. O_O he lost me here. *I think he was meant to use the word relaxing.*
Standing watch is even possible during it, but for no more than 2 hours; maintaining heightened vigilance any longer than that isn’t restful. Er…..
In short, a long rest and sleep aren’t the same thing; you can sleep when you’re not taking a long rest, and you can take a long rest and not sleep. T-o er…He actually made it a lot more confusing.
I never associated long rest with reading, talking and eating (I would associate them with being active not resting).
XD I’m starting to think the D&D team change thing around just so the forgotten realms book make more sense (maybe there trying to make the pieces forcefully fit so they can make a movie around them books).
XD My book came! *Out of the Abyss (Dungeons & Dragons)*
I began to flick though to make sure there were no printing problems when one of the maps caught my eye.
If you don’t know this book is set in the ultra dangerous underdark of the forgotten realms. This is a place filled with demons, powerful monsters and things that will generally drive any normal person mad…..Which is why this next question is so odd.
O_O Why is there a handrail?
Who made the handrail?
Where did they get to wood to make the handrail?
Is this book honestly want me to believe that there where a bunch of underdark creatures (most likely drow/dark elves) that looked at that cliff and decided it was too unsafe?
person 1: “I know we are surrounded by danger everyday however, we shouldn’t have to worry about falling of the edge on this particular stretch of path.”
person 2: “what if a monster jumps us?”
person 1: “They might kill us but, we will not fall.”
Why are drow/dark elves associated with the jumping spider? all of the art work I have seen of spiders when it comes to drow are cute unintimidating jumping spiders (even if you make them big they are not scary), you would think they would want to surround then selves with tarantulas or widows….ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER!
I guess they are great mascots when it comes to drow charisma.
^_o supporting a friend.
Will be discreet as best as possible
If there’s one thing I’m certain of, I am not a fan of vampires, nor am I a fan of vampire stories. However: there is always exceptions somewhere.
Seraph of the End has took my attention on that exception. (Surprisingly 2nd one). First volume’s blurb I roughly thought it would be a Vampire Hunter story but fighting in a world with few humans left. Though: why not? I’ll have a peek.
Heck was I a little off on my expectation how the beginning would start up. See the poster and think to myself: Hey its Yuichiro, Mikaela his brother/friend and is that some vampire? Ignore that as these two later characters were NOT Mika or a vampire. 😦 BUT…Enough about the insert on why I thought that. What a way start to find the main characters in the Vampire City going about their “livestock” lives.

The continuing adventures of me trying to get Out of the Abyss (Dungeons & Dragons).
I went today with the mindset of my canceling pre-order when the guy at the desk told me it should be in tomorrow (he didn’t know why it was so late).
Picked up 2 new bored games for me and db to play while I was there (wish there were more console games with a 2 player option for couples). *we had loads of fun with portal 2.*
It’s been a week since the official release “Out of the Abyss” and there is still no sign of it! *Dungeons & Dragons*
Even when I look at different sites that should be selling the book there is nothing.
The only place I have seen it is amazon.
