18if first impression

Only ‘IF’ I knew what the title meant!

This is one of those anime you look at in the crunchyroll back catalogue and just say: “Not for me.”

Just look at the cover art for this.

2017…looks a lot older then that???

The plot: Boy solves peoples problems in there sleep.

Let’s get this out of the way, this anime looks cheap. The sad truth about making an artsy anime is that you need the budget in order to bring life into the world. This is not to say its not possible to do it on the cheap, it’s just really unlikely.

Another problem I found with this anime was that it had a lot going on, yet at the same time it had nothing going on. The conflict the show presents doesn’t really become relevant until the second half (The first half is just him running from stuff).

According this anime a young lady got ‘sleeping beauty syndrome’ because a guy called her ‘boring’.

This young lady was tricked by 6 students into thinking a boy wanted to take her out on a date, which she said yes too. The 6 mocked her for it saying it was prank/game and that she was boring for not playing hard to get.

Y-Y The anime treats it as if those 6 students didn’t do anything wrong!

The moral of the story (according the animation) should be about how one shouldn’t mistreat others just because you were mistreated.

The witch played around with her victims until she broke/got bored of them.

How is telling the victim “You just need to relax more” meant to solve the core problem.

My final thoughts:

I have very little faith in this anime getting any better.

  1. It doesn’t. I do like the changing art style week to week, but what small amount of potential the story had (and there was some potential), it ultimately doesn’t do anything with. The end of this one is up there with some of the worst endings of last year.

    1. The episodes gets worse and worse.
It doesn’t even follow its own rules.

  2. Looks proper naff. Good thing I gave it a miss.
