^_o I’m back into an anime mood after such a long hiatus peeps (need to fix my list).
For people unfamiliar with “Wish Upon the Pleiades” it’s about a bunch of magical girls driving what looks like vacuums that sound like race cars when they fly. O_O This was a collaboration between the studio Gainax and automaker Subaru.
Having a boyfriend who is obsessed with cars I must ask this question: WHAT DID THIS ANIME HAVE TO DO WITH CARS! In “girls und panzer” the tank are based on real designs and in “strike witches” all the girls and recognizable planes….. Y_Y so why aren’t the girls recognizable subaru models. The only indication there flying different wands is the car grille s(No car nut goes “that car had a memorable grille.”).
*T-o Knowing my bunny he could probably identify them just from that.*
The show struggles from extreme blandness! I knew the twist from the start, the girls look like they were copied and pasted from other shows and their friendship with each other lacks chemistry.
I think in the end Subaru and red haired lad frozen in time together because something to do with the strings of fate messing the universe and changing everyone’s lives (I really don’t understand why they over complicated it at the last second).
My score 4/10
T_o It’s on the lower scale of average.
How does one describe this show? The show has a premise…..O_o and it ends there! I have seen many shows that run off a single premise however, a lot of these other show supplement it with small stories that expand the world and make you want to watch on.
Do you know what this anime dose to expand the run time? Random character fight/ random back story that has nothing to do with the premise. I think they are trying to build an engine for an alien BUT, we don’t really know what this engine is going to be used for or why he is collecting engine pieces that look like sweets (why are they floating around space?).
XD I also think the anime has wrongly presumed that because it’s magical girl based they can use the power of friendship as an excuse for everything.
Bad guy : “why do you want to engine?”
Main girl: “Because of friendship.”
Me: “What the heck are you talking about? ”
^_o It’s almost unintentionally turning into a magical girl parody thanks to its poor understanding of how these stories work (it’s super basic).
How would you react if your daughter started crying just because the engine you were building (small scale) had odd parts that didn’t really work together? I understand some magical girls get really sad at some point in an anime however, I can’t recall any characters that started crying around there family due a jigsaw piece missing or 1 broken carrot on their plate (If your crying over small things like that you might want to talk to someone).
*I think your parents would start making you see therapist.*
The only thing that keeps bring me back to this anime is purely the fascinating visual effects they use during the flying scenes. You can tell a lot of hard work when into making use they looked unique and eye catching (it would be better if the computer animation wasn’t delayed).
This entire anime reminds me of another anime that was basically one huge advert for Toyota.
It’s only 7 episode and about 2-4 minutes long yet, It gets a lot more information across and has the same vibe as this anime without the padding.
18 seconds of nothing!
Her name is Subaru? XD maybe it was there first car (I know that it has to do with a star cluster).
*when you first heard her name did you think Pleiades star cluster or the car company?*
“Just as light is no different from darkness unless it falls upon a person’s eyes”…..what the heck are you talking about? Darkness can exist without light but, light can’t exist without darkness to illuminate. Is she talking about how the eyes translate light into colour and if they couldn’t do that night would be no different from day? I HAVE NO CLUE!
“The stars won’t disappear just because it’s raining” I’m sure the light pollution will.
XD There wands sound like cars.
This was a wired episode! There was cad animation where it wasn’t really needed and an antagonist with no real motive.
The blue haired girl was being overly mean to Subaru and putting her down constantly by saying she is slow and useless (slow most probably being used in the sense of mentally slow). The problem with doing this was that we were never shown any sign of Subaru being mentally slow or incapable in any shape or form making this entire conflict pointless.
